Job Description Summary
This engineering role is within Outage Engineering that is aligned to the EMEA Pole. Outage Engineering is a Pole aligned organizational structure within the Customer Service Engineering organization of Gas Power Technology. The engineer will be responsible for completing engineering support of the Gas Turbine outage planning scoping process including engineering recommendations, productivity opportunities, extra work identification, fleet optimization, RAM+, and knowledge sharing. This role will be critical to cover engineering Gas Turbine outage planning process in EMEA. This position will work with various stakeholders across the Gas Power business including FieldCore, Parts Engineering, Configuration Management, Application Engineering, Product Service, Performance Engineering, and Product Line Management.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Complete Gas Turbine engineering assessment of outage scope to reduce technical risk and identify opportunities to improve reliability.
- Use data to identify extra work opportunities beyond standard scope.
- Lead engineering outage preparation activities and OSA calls.
- Work closely with Application Engineering, Product Service, Performance Engineering, and Product Line Management to support Gas Turbin technical assessment.
- Apply RAM+ to all outage planning assessment.
- Represent GE at customer meetings and provide timely technical communication to external and internal customers.
- Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy.
- Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
- Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of 1-2 years engineering experience in Gas Turbine, turbomachinery, design, or Gas power plant domain.
- Able to travel globally as needed.
