Job Summary




  • Our client is seeking to hire a Chief Engineer with proven experience within pharmaceutical, food processing, or milling operations to lead their engineering and maintenance functions.



Key Responsibilities




  • Provide leadership and direction to the engineering and maintenance teams to ensure optimal plant performance and equipment reliability.

  • Develop and implement engineering strategies that align with the company’s production, safety, and quality goals.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost optimization, energy efficiency, and process enhancement.

  • Collaborate with senior management to plan capital projects, plant upgrades, and expansion initiatives.

  • Oversee daily maintenance operations to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted production flow.

  • Establish preventive and predictive maintenance programs to extend equipment life and enhance operational efficiency.

  • Ensure all plant equipment and utilities (HVAC, boilers, compressors, etc.) are operating safely and within regulatory standards.

  • Coordinate engineering support for production, ensuring quick resolution of technical issues.

  • Ensure adherence to all engineering, environmental, and safety regulations, including GMP and ISO standards (where applicable).

  • Implement robust safety and quality assurance systems within the engineering function.

  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify risks and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the engineering team to build technical competence and promote a culture of excellence.

  • Set performance goals, monitor progress, and ensure accountability within the department.

  • Foster collaboration between engineering, production, and quality teams.

  • Develop and manage the engineering department’s budget, including maintenance costs, spare parts inventory, and capital expenditures.

  • Evaluate and negotiate contracts with external vendors, contractors, and equipment suppliers.

  • Optimize resource allocation to achieve maximum efficiency.



Qualifications & Experience




  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering (Master’s degree or relevant certification is an added advantage).

  • Minimum of 10–12 years of progressive engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management or leadership role within pharmaceutical, food processing, or milling industries.

  • Strong knowledge of GMP, ISO, and other relevant regulatory standards.

  • Demonstrated experience in plant maintenance, project management, and process optimization.



Salary

N800,000 - N1,000,000 / Month (Net)
