Job Summary




  • Are you a seasoned transactional lawyer ready for your next big move? We’re seeking a Senior Associate with deep expertise in corporate/commercial law, finance, or capital markets.

  • This role is not for everyone – we’re looking for the best.



Must-Haves (Non-Negotiable)




  • Minimum 8 years post-call experience

  • Current or prior role in a recognized commercial law firm (not purely in-house or government)

  • Proven track record in transactions – M&A, corporate finance, securities, syndicated lending, or bond issuance

  • Hands-on experience leading due diligence, and drafting complex loan/shareholder agreements

  • Leadership experience – must currently or previously hold titles such as Senior Associate, Managing Associate, or Assistant Partner 



Strongly Preferred:




  • LL.M in Corporate/Commercial Law or professional certifications (e.g., CIS, CIMA)

  • Exposure to capital markets or finance deals (e.g., SEC filings, bond issuance, syndicated loans)

  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks: CAMA, SEC, CBN, FRCN, NAICOM, PENCOM

  • Experience mentoring junior lawyers or managing deal teams

  • Strong business acumen – involvement in BD or client relationship management on large deals



Automatic Disqualifiers:




  • Less than 8 years post-call

  • No experience in a law firm

  • Primary focus in litigation, arbitration, or criminal law

  • No hands-on transactional experience

  • Regulatory/compliance-only background with no deal structuring or drafting
