Job Description




  • The accountant plays a critical role in overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations of the company.

  • This position is responsible for ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and timely reporting.

  • The role includes supervising junior accounting staff, managing tax-related matters (both direct and indirect), and maintaining quality control over tax accounts and financial statements.



Key Responsibilities & Duties




  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, ensuring high performance and professional development.

  • Oversee the preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual direct and indirect tax returns.

  • Prepare tax reports and forecasts for management, including annual and quarterly projections.

  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns in compliance with local and international regulations.

  • Prepare and analyze corporate tax liabilities and ensure proper documentation and reconciliation.

  • Maintain and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations and notes.

  • Identify and escalate critical financial or tax-related issues to the Finance Director.

  • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies to address queries and ensure compliance.

  • Present financial and tax reports to senior management to support strategic decision-making.

  • Support general accounting tasks including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closing activities.

  • Communicate effectively across departments and present financial information to non-finance stakeholders.

  • Monitor and manage financial risks, ensuring internal controls are in place and effective.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.

  • Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives within the finance function.



Qualifications & Experience




  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA (Australia/US), ICAN, MIA, MACPA, or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 3 - 4 years of relevant experience in accounting, tax, or audit.

  • Strong knowledge of local and international taxation, including VAT/GST and corporate tax.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; experience with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) is a plus.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy.

  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.

  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.

  • Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn and grow professionally.
