Job Purpose




  • The Business Development Lead is responsible for driving Tamrose’s business growth strategy across its marine logistics, oil & gas, and energy service portfolios.

  • This role oversees opportunity development, client engagement, strategic partnerships, and bid management to achieve revenue and market share targets. The position plays a key role in identifying new business lines, managing high-value relationships, and ensuring alignment between commercial activities and the company’s long-term strategic objectives.



Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning:




  • Develop and implement Tamrose’s annual business development and marketing plan.

  • Identify strategic opportunities for expansion into new markets, service lines, and partnerships.

  • Provide data-driven insights and forecasts to guide executive decision-making.

  • Establish performance metrics and targets for the Business Development and Bids teams.



Client & Market Engagement:




  • Lead client acquisition, retention, and account management strategies.

  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships with IOCs, NOCs, and key government agencies.

  • Represent Tamrose at industry events, conferences, and networking sessions.

  • Facilitate client feedback sessions to strengthen business relationships and service delivery.



Opportunity Management:




  • Oversee identification, qualification, and prioritization of high-value opportunities.

  • Review and approve opportunity assessment reports and pursuit strategies.

  • Ensure timely submission of prequalifications, bids, and tenders.

  • Monitor competitor activity and industry trends to inform strategy adjustments.



Proposal & Bid Governance:




  • Supervise the preparation and quality assurance of all commercial and technical proposals.

  • Coordinate inputs from cross-functional departments (Technical, Finance, Operations, QHSE) for bid submissions.

  • Develop pricing models and commercial strategies that align with company profitability goals.

  • Maintain a centralized database of all bids, opportunities, and outcomes.



Marketing & Corporate Positioning:




  • Drive visibility and brand perception initiatives to position Tamrose as a preferred marine logistics partner.

  • Oversee development of marketing collateral, client presentations, and digital media strategies.

  • Coordinate internal and external communication on business development matters.



Reporting & Leadership:




  • Present weekly and monthly pipeline reports to the Executive Management Team.

  • Track KPIs related to revenue growth, bid success rates, and client satisfaction.

  • Coach and mentor team members to build strong business development capability within the organization.

  • Promote cross-departmental collaboration to ensure smooth project delivery post-contract award.



Qualifications 




  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline.

  • A Master’s Degree (MBA) is an advantage.

  • 8 – 10 years’ experience in business development or commercial leadership roles, with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity within the oil & gas or marine logistics sector.



Technical Skills:




  • Strategic business planning and opportunity management.

  • Financial and commercial acumen.

  • Strong knowledge of NCDMB, NUPRC, and IOC procurement processes.
