Job Objectives




  • To supervise maintenance of rotating and other mechanical equipment safely and efficiently in all Savannah Energy facilities (onshore).

  • To ensure effective maintenance of Company equipment in accordance with the relevant internal technical standards, OEM standards and regulatory requirements, in order that they can be used within their respective nominal operating envelopes.



Duties & Responsibilities




  • Oversee and coordinate the activities of the maintenance team (Mechanic, Electrical, Instrument and Systems).

  • Plan and execute all planned/unplanned maintenance in accordance with company policy, OEM specifications and statutory requirements.

  • Liaise with the maintenance planner, make resources available for all scheduled maintenance activities and ensure they are documented on SAP.

  • Work with operations superintendent in identifying key indicators for any plant turnaround maintenance and ensure resources are available for smooth execution.

  • Examine machines and oversee diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems.

  • Perform or supervise first line maintenance on valves, pumps, vessels, boilers/heaters (direct, indirect, electrical), glycol regeneration system, mechanical refrigeration system, fuel gas system, water hydrant system, pressure regulators, pressure relief valves, etc.

  • Liaise with the Supply Chain Team to ensure timely availability of critical spares.

  • Contribute to the yearly maintenance plan for all the machines belonging to the working perimeter.

  • Observe all company safe work practices and good housekeeping in accordance with the company’s operating philosophy, job methods, code requirements, SOPs and statutory requirements.

  • Conduct periodic tests to ascertain the safety of any mechanical designs and provide advice on difficult and complex plant problems as needed.

  • Make recommendations towards resolving recurring plant problems or failures.

  • Perform skilled repair services of mechanical systems and machinery equipment.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive plan for all tasks related to maintenance activities.

  • Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Line Manager.



Requirements



Education / Knowledge:




  • A minimum of HND qualification or B.Eng Degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Instrumentation, Electrical), with at least eight (8) years’ experience in process plant operations in an oil/gas production and processing facility; three (3) of which should have been in a supervisory role. Possession of any other relevant qualification is an added advantage.



Skills & Attributes:




  • Extensive knowledge of maintenance operations, QHSSE, including application of Permit to Work process, best practices and regulations.

  • Able to demonstrate in-depth understanding of oil/gas process plant facility documentation, including P&ID, Process Flow Diagram, Isometric, Piping drawing, Single Line diagram, HAZID/HAZOP and incident reporting.

  • Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for hands-on problem-solving.

  • Advanced knowledge of maintenance systems, activities, processes and project management systems, quality and technical assurance systems, change management and waiver / query management.

  • Must be able to demonstrate sharp analytical skills for root cause determination in case of failures.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven experience in maintaining rotating equipment and mechanical systems (particularly, gas turbines, gas generators and compressors, both centrifugal and reciprocating).

  • Must have demonstrable competence in the use of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems ("CMMS").

  • Proven experience developing, reviewing and integrating maintenance manuals, procedures and roll out programmes.

  • Must be conversant with isolation / de-isolation, Lock-Out Tag-Out system ("LOTO") in the oil & gas industry and Permit To Work ("PTW") system.

  • Comprehensive understanding of all the technical maintenance specialties (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and systems).

  • Proficient in MS Office and relevant software.

  • Must possess excellent leadership skills with proven record of leading a team towards high performance.

  • Must be result orientated and be able to promote Savannah’s core values and business principles.
