Job Description
- The Sales and Business Development manager represents the company's brand and drives strategies to increase product awareness by observing the market, competitors, and industry trends.
- As the sales and Business Development manager, you will be responsible for researching and developing marketing opportunities and planning and implementing new sales plans.
- You will also manage both the marketing and the sales staff and will perform managerial duties to meet the company's operations goals.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out assigned duties for the Group company.
- Provide leadership to the entire sales team
- Achieve personal sales targets by developing new business with existing and potential clients.
- Develop and implement sales strategies andstructured plan to achieve set targets.
- Responsible for crafting and implementing a developmental and coaching program for the sales teams.
- Ensure the achievement of projected sales revenue and monitor sales performance trend.
- Coach and train the sales team to ensure understanding of the objectives and goals of the department, awareness of set targets/requirements and regularly review their training needs.
- Assess the strengths and weaknesses of the sales team and manage the sales program accordingly
- Preparing annual budget plans, and ensuring that the sales team meets their quotas and goals in line with the Company’s sales financial goals
- Formulate and ensure effective execution of sales plans, policies, strategies, etc.
- Analyze market/industry trends and discover new opportunities for growth, product improvements, new products development and be current on market dynamics and competitors’ activities.
- Increase sales revenue and market share by identifying new accounts and constantly increasing sales pipelines.
- Use the knowledge and understanding of the various OEMs SKUs of the company Principals to drive sales penetration and gain competitive edge
- Suggest new products and innovative sales techniques to increase customer satisfaction
- Ensure prompt attention to enquiries and complaints from customers and distributors.
- Compile and present management report on sales and results
- Responsible for the growth of the portfolio by implementing marketing and business development plans.
- Measure bsuiness development program effectiveness and KPIs to drive continuous improvement in strategy and output
- Organize department meetings, conduct personnel reviews, and attend managerial meetings
- Undertake cold calling, schedule and attend client meetings, ensuring that number of meetings meets targets as set by management.
- Participate in salesand business developmentcampaigns to drive revenue and increase product growth.
- Actively and successfully manage the sales process: lead generation, asking questions, solution pitch, negotiation, close, handover to the account management team.
- Develop new business relationships and Proactively pursue new business and sales opportunities
- Solve problems for customers by developing innovative and tailored sales solutions
- Provide on-the-ground support for sales associates as they generate leads and close new deals
- Meet with customers to discuss their evolving needs and to assess the quality of our company's relationship with them
- Develop and implement new sales initiatives, strategies and programs to capture key demographics
- Promoting the company's existing brands and introducing new products to the market.
- Maintaining relationships with important clients by making regular visits, understanding their needs, and anticipating newsales and marketing opportunities.
- Stay up to date on job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, attending exhibitions,conferences and workshops, reading professional publications, maintaining a personal network and joining professional organizations
- Meet and exceed KPIs per sales and business development targets.
- Other Duties as may be assigned.

- Lead, train, and develop sales team.
- Set performance targets and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Foster a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement.
Strategic Leadership & Business Growth:
- Develop and implement business development strategy aligned with the company's objectives.
- Identify new market opportunities and expand the company's network.
- Lead brand positioning efforts to enhance market share and customer engagement.
Sales & Revenue Optimization:
- Drive sales to meet revenue and profitability targets.
- Implement marketing strategies.
Customer Experience & Service Quality:
- Establish high customer service standards to enhance the consumer experience.
- Implement client feedback mechanisms.
- Ensure proper training of sales team to maintain excellent service delivery.
Requirements
- Candidate must possess a minimum qualification of BSc / HND in Engineering and Sciences from a reputable Higher Institution of Learning
- Minimum of 5 - 8 years of Sales and Business Development experience, with at least 2 years in a senior/leadership role.
- Age: middle level.
