Job Summary
- The Chief Security Officer (CSO) is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the company’s security strategy to safeguard personnel, assets, operations, and information.
- The CSO provides leadership in all areas of physical and digital security, ensures compliance with security policies and regulations, and fosters a culture of safety and risk awareness across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Manage and oversee the company’s physical security systems, including surveillance, access control, and perimeter protection.
- Lead and coordinate the activities of the security department, including supervision of security personnel and external contractors.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend corrective measures.
- Ensure the safety and protection of employees, visitors, and company property.
- Collaborate with government and law enforcement agencies on matters related to corporate security and compliance.
- Develop and implement emergency response and crisis management plans.
- Investigate incidents, thefts, or security breaches and prepare detailed reports.
- Provide training and awareness programs on security policies and emergency procedures.
- Oversee cybersecurity measures in collaboration with the IT department to protect digital assets and sensitive information.
- Prepare and manage the security department’s budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
- Stay updated on emerging security threats, technologies, and best practices.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Security Management, Criminology, Law Enforcement, or a related field.
- Master’s Degree or professional certification (e.g., CPP, PSP, CISSP) is an added advantage.
- 7–10 years of experience in security management, preferably in a corporate or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of physical security, risk management, and emergency response.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
- Proficiency in security systems, technologies, and software.
