Job Summary



The Research Analyst will play a key role in designing, implementing, and analyzing qualitative research components of the PAC project. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, key informant interviews, and other qualitative methodologies. They will support data analysis and interpretation, and contribute to the dissemination of findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.




  • Assist in the planning and coordination of field research activities related to post-abortion care.Assist in the design and refinement of qualitative research tools and protocols (e.g., interview guides, informed consent forms).

  • Conduct and/or supervise qualitative data collection including focus groups, in-depth interviews (IDIs), and key informant interviews (KIIs) with PAC clients, providers, and other stakeholders.

  • Ensure ethical standards and data confidentiality are upheld during all research activities.

  • Transcribe, translate, and organize qualitative data for analysis.

  • Code and analyze qualitative data using software.

  • Prepare summaries, reports, presentations, and policy briefs based on qualitative findings.

  • Liaise with field teams, local partners, and stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation and contextual accuracy.



Qualifications and Experience




  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Public Health, Sociology, Anthropology, Gender Studies, or related social sciences.

  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years of experience in qualitative research, preferably in reproductive health, abortion care, or women’s health.

  • Demonstrated experience conducting IDIs, FGDs, and KIIs in sensitive contexts.

  • Strong analytical skills in qualitative data coding and thematic analysis.

  • Proficiency in qualitative data analysis software.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of local language(s) is a strong advantage.

  • Familiarity with ethical guidelines for research involving human subjects, particularly in sexual and reproductive health.

  • Experience working in cross-cultural or low-resource settings is preferred.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
