Job Summary
- We are seeking a passionate and experienced Hausa Language Teacher to join our academic team.
- The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of Hausa language, literature, and culture, and possess the ability to make learning engaging and relevant.
- The teacher will inspire students to communicate effectively in Hausa while appreciating the richness of its heritage and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver well-structured lessons in Hausa Language and Literature in accordance with the school’s curriculum (Nigerian or WAEC syllabus).
- Teach reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills using diverse teaching strategies and resources.
- Develop students’ appreciation of Hausa culture, proverbs, idioms, and traditional values.
- Design and administer classwork, tests, and examinations to assess student learning outcomes.
- Provide feedback and support to students for academic and personal improvement.
- Participate in school events, language clubs, cultural days, and inter-class competitions that promote indigenous language learning.
- Engage in continuous professional development and collaborate with colleagues to enhance the language curriculum.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Hausa, Linguistics, Education, or a related field.
- Teaching qualification (PGDE, TRCN certification, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 2–3 years of teaching experience in Hausa Language at the primary or secondary school level.
- Strong command of spoken and written Hausa and English.
- Familiarity with WAEC/NECO curriculum and assessment standards.
