Job Summary
- The Inventory Officer is responsible for tracking and reconciling inventory records, ensuring accurate reporting of stock levels, and maintaining strong internal controls.
- This role supports financial reporting by ensuring that all inventory transactions are properly recorded and aligned with financial records.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records in coordination with the store team, ensuring all transactions are properly documented and recorded daily in NetSuite, while generating weekly and monthly inventory reports.
- Monitor stock movements, reconcile discrepancies between physical counts and system records, and conduct periodic and spot inventory audits to identify and investigate variances.
- Ensure compliance with internal control procedures to safeguard company assets, prevent fraud or mismanagement, and verify that all stock transactions align with procurement approvals and company policies.
- Support the procurement and finance teams with data analysis related to inventory trends and stock optimization while recommending process improvements for accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintain proper documentation of all inventory adjustments, transfers, and write-offs for audit purposes.
- Monitoring stock levels, generating purchase requests as needed, and ensuring FIFO is followed in stock issuance.
- Inspect all supplies upon receipt to ensure they meet company standards and are stored appropriately.
- Ensure proper issuance of stock to the kitchen and record transactions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in Accounting or a related discipline.
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience in Inventory and Material Management.
Skills and Competencies:
- Good data gathering, analysis and problem-solving skills
- High ethical standards and integrity.
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office tools e.g. Excel, MS Word.
- Proficiency in the use of Inventory Management.
