Manage stock levels: Monitor and control inventory levels to ensure they meet demand without overstocking.
Track inventory movement: Record the receipt, movement, and dispatch of all goods.Ensure items are only released with proper authorization.
Conduct stock counts: Perform regular physical counts and cycle counts to reconcile physical stock with computerized records.
Maintain records: Keep accurate and up-to-date inventory records, including quantities, locations, and quality, often using specialized software.
Report on inventory: Generate reports detailing stock levels, variances, aging, and turnover rates to assess performance and inform purchasing decisions.
Inspect and receive goods: Inspect incoming shipments for quantity, quality, and damage, and verify them against purchase orders.
Ensure proper storage: Organize and label inventory correctly to prevent damage, loss, or spoilage, and ensure efficient use of storage space.
Collaborate with other departments: Work with procurement, sales, and operations to ensure inventory aligns with company needs.
Required skills
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, or related field.
2 - 3 years work experience.
Excellent math and analytical skills for reporting and discrepancy analysis.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Good communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with other departments and staff.
Organizational and time management skills.
Physical ability to handle warehouse tasks, which may include lifting.
