Job Summary




  • We are seeking an experienced Conveyor Belt Technician with proven expertise in PVC/PU belt joining and splicing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of conveyor belts using both hot vulcanizing and mechanical joining techniques, ensuring optimal belt performance and minimal downtime across all operations.



Key responsibilities




  • Perform hot vulcanizing and mechanical splicing on PVC and PU conveyor belts.

  • Operate belt presses: manage temperature control, pressure, and curing times for high-quality joints.

  • Inspect conveyor systems; diagnose and correct misalignment, joint failures, and wear.

  • Conduct preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and belt failures.

  • Maintain accurate work reports (materials used, repairs, belt condition).

  • Comply with safety procedures and keep a clean, organized work area.

  • Ensure adherence to SOPs for production processes, including material selection, cutting, and joining.

  • Support production with routine inspections to ensure quality standards.

  • Identify ways to streamline production & maintenance processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Perform routine inspections during production to guarantee adherence to quality standards.



Required skills & competencies




  • ND / HND / Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

  • Minimum 5 years’ hands-on experience in PVC/PU conveyor belt joining and splicing.

  • Certified or formally trained in conveyor belt splicing (will be an advantage).

  • Experience in the industrial or manufacturing sector is a plus

  • Strong proficiency in hot vulcanizing and mechanical joining techniques.

  • Skilled in belt press operation, temperature and pressure management, and curing time control.

  • Ability to diagnose and resolve issues such as belt misalignment, joint failure, and wear.

  • Understanding of various belt specifications, surface textures, and industrial applications.

  • Attention to detail, problem-solving and knowledge of workplace safety regulations and best practices.

  • Good communication and client-facing skills.
