Job Summary
- The Boiler Operator is responsible for operating, maintaining, and monitoring steam boilers and related mechanical systems to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.
- The role involves conducting regular inspections, performing routine maintenance, and troubleshooting equipment issues to minimize downtime and maintain production standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor boilers, feedwater systems, and auxiliary equipment.
- Maintain optimal boiler performance by adjusting valves, controls, and safety devices.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on boilers and equipment.
- Record operating data such as pressure, temperature, water levels, and fuel consumption.
- Identify and troubleshoot operational issues, reporting faults to maintenance teams.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation of daily operations.
- Support shutdowns, startups, and emergency response procedures as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- OND or Technical Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related field).
- 2 - 3 years of experience as a Boiler Operator or in a similar industrial role.
- Knowledge of boiler systems, steam generation, and mechanical operations.
- Understanding of safety and environmental standards related to boiler operations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under minimal supervision.
