Job Description
Job Purpose
- The Team Lead (Personal Banking) is responsible for leading and managing Direct Sales Agents (DSAs) to deliver on customer acquisition, deposit mobilization, loan sales & recovery, and digital channel adoption. The role involves planning, performance monitoring, coaching, compliance oversight, and market development. The Team Lead ensures that the team consistently achieves business growth targets, maintains portfolio quality, and builds strong community and stakeholder relationships to strengthen the bank’s presence in the area under management.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
Deposit Mobilization & Account Growth
- Drive deposit mobilization through savings, current, and fixed deposit accounts.
- Ensure monthly team achievement of regional deposit targets.
- Develop and execute market penetration strategies to maximize growth.
- Lead initiatives for bulk deposits and targeted mobilization campaigns.
- Oversee community activations, campaigns, and partnerships.
- Monitor cost of funds and ensure compliance with approved thresholds.
Account Opening & Digital Adoption
- Ensure a minimum of 21,000 new accounts are opened per month through DSAs.
- Guarantee that all accounts are properly KYC-compliant and profiled across Kolomoni Digital Savings App, USSD, and Chatbot.
- Drive usage of eChannel by creating adoption campaigns and customer education initiatives.
Card Issuance & Activation
- Oversee ATM card requests, issuance, and distribution to customers.
- Ensure minimum 80% activation rate of cards issued per month.
- Collaborate with Operations and CX to resolve card-related escalations.
Loan Management
- Coordinate disbursement of micro-loans within the assigned portfolio.
- Support DSAs in loan origination, basic credit checks, and documentation.
- Monitor repayment performance and maintain portfolio quality (PAR ≤5%).
- Intervene in escalated delinquency cases and coordinate recovery strategies.
- Monitor repayments to maintain loan portfolio quality and reduce defaults.
Customer Engagement & Retention
- Build strong customer relationships to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
- Resolve escalated complaints and support customers with digital onboarding through Team leads and DSAs
- Conduct field visits to monitor service quality and agent performance.
Regional Sales Leadership & Team Management
- Supervise and manage a team of 10 Direct Sales Agents (DSAs) to achieve set sales and deposit mobilization targets.
- Provide daily coaching, field support, and on-the-job training to DSAs.
- Translate regional sales strategies into actionable team-level plans and execution.
- Hold regular performance review sessions and conduct joint field visits with DSAs.
- Ensure strict adherence to the bank’s sales processes, policies, and compliance requirements by the team.
Reporting & Compliance
- Provide daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports of Team leads and DSAs to the Head, Personal & Digital Banking.
- Ensure compliance with CBN guidelines, KYC/AML requirements, and internal policies.
- Ensure ethical selling practices and adherence to internal compliance policies.
- Document and escalate operational risks, customer complaints, and market insights.
