Role Overview




  • The Superintendent Pharmacist will oversee and ensure compliance with pharmacy practice regulations, supervise all pharmacy operations in Ibadan, and guarantee the safe and effective dispensing of medications. This role is central to maintaining professional standards, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence while supporting the broader goals of OneHealth in providing last-mile access to medicines and healthcare solutions.



Key Responsibilities



Regulatory & Compliance




  • Serve as the licensed Superintendent Pharmacist for the Ibadan location, ensuring compliance with PCN, NAFDAC, and all relevant regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain and renew pharmacy premises and personnel licenses on time.

  • Ensure full adherence to Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP) standards.



Dispensing & Clinical Oversight




  • Supervise accurate dispensing of prescriptions and over-the-counter medications.

  • Verify prescriptions to ensure appropriateness, safety, and legality.

  • Provide clinical guidance on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and administration.

  • Support patient counseling and adherence monitoring for improved outcomes.



Operational Management




  • Lead and oversee pharmacy staff (pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, interns, and support staff).

  • Ensure inventory is well-managed—stock levels, expiries, and secure storage.

  • Implement SOPs for order processing, fulfillment, and customer interaction.

  • Work with the Operations team to ensure pharmacy SLAs (turnaround time, accuracy, customer satisfaction) are consistently met.



Stakeholder Engagement




  • Collaborate with HMOs, healthcare providers, and regulatory agencies as required.

  • Support business development efforts by ensuring pharmacy readiness for partnerships.

  • Represent the pharmacy in audits, inspections, and external engagements.



Leadership & Training




  • Mentor and coach pharmacy team members, including interns.

  • Provide ongoing training on professional standards, ethics, and customer service.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence within the Ibadan pharmacy team.



Qualifications & Requirements




  • Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) degree.

  • Current and valid license from the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).

  • Minimum 3years post-qualification experience, with at least 2 years in a Superintendent role preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations, pharmacy practice, and ethical standards.

  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.

  • Proficiency in digital pharmacy platforms or willingness to learn.



Performance Metrics (KPIs)




  • 100% compliance with PCN/NAFDAC regulatory requirements.

  • Prescription error rate ≤ 1%.

  • Inventory accuracy ≥ 98%.

  • SLA compliance for dispensing & order turnaround ≥ 95%.

  • Staff training completion and performance improvement.

  • Patient/customer satisfaction score ≥ 90%.
