Job Summary
- The Electrical Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and machinery within the company’s processing plants, poultry units, and facilities.
- The ideal candidate should possess strong electrical troubleshooting skills, technical precision, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of machinery, control panels, and equipment.
- Diagnose electrical faults and perform timely repairs to minimize downtime.
- Inspect, test, and maintain electrical systems including motors, circuit breakers, and lighting.
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and update reports on all electrical activities.
- Collaborate with the Mechanical and Production teams to ensure optimal plant operations.
- Identify opportunities for energy efficiency and system improvements.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper handling of electrical tools and materials.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Trade Test Certificate, OND, or HND in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ practical experience as an Electrical Technician in an FMCG, manufacturing, or agro-processing environment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical wiring, power distribution, and motor control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical diagrams.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting PLCs and automation systems is an added advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- High regard for safety, quality, and teamwork.
- Willingness to work shifts and respond to emergency maintenance requests.
