Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate geotechnical site activities like drilling, sampling, and in-situ testing.
Ensure all works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and safety standards.
Oversee rig operators, drillers, and field teams to maintain productivity and quality.
Ensure accurate logging, labeling, and preservation of soil and rock samples.
Maintain daily site reports on work progress, equipment use, and staff attendance.
Inspect and monitor equipment condition, reporting any faults immediately.
Support engineers and site geologists in data collection and documentation.
Enforce strict health, safety, and environmental standards on all site activities.
Liaise with project engineers or site managers to plan and coordinate site work.
Mentor and train junior field staff on geotechnical procedures and best practices.
Requirements
Education: OND / HND / Trade Test Certificate in Civil Engineering, Geology, or a related technical field.
Experience: 5–8 years of hands-on experience in geotechnical or construction site supervision.
Technical Skills:
Proven expertise in drilling operations, borehole logging, and soil investigations.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and field instructions.
Personal Attributes:
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Physically fit and willing to work on remote sites for extended periods.
Solid knowledge of site safety and management practices.
