Key Responsibilities




  • Supervise and coordinate geotechnical site activities like drilling, sampling, and in-situ testing.

  • Ensure all works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and safety standards.

  • Oversee rig operators, drillers, and field teams to maintain productivity and quality.

  • Ensure accurate logging, labeling, and preservation of soil and rock samples.

  • Maintain daily site reports on work progress, equipment use, and staff attendance.

  • Inspect and monitor equipment condition, reporting any faults immediately.

  • Support engineers and site geologists in data collection and documentation.

  • Enforce strict health, safety, and environmental standards on all site activities.

  • Liaise with project engineers or site managers to plan and coordinate site work.

  • Mentor and train junior field staff on geotechnical procedures and best practices.



Requirements




  • Education: OND / HND / Trade Test Certificate in Civil Engineering, Geology, or a related technical field.

  • Experience: 5–8 years of hands-on experience in geotechnical or construction site supervision.



Technical Skills:




  • Proven expertise in drilling operations, borehole logging, and soil investigations.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and field instructions.



Personal Attributes:




  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Physically fit and willing to work on remote sites for extended periods.

  • Solid knowledge of site safety and management practices.
