Job Objectives




  • The Structural Engineer will design, analyze, and oversee the structural integrity of buildings and infrastructure within the company’s real estate projects.

  • This role is responsible for ensuring that all structures are safe, durable, and compliant with relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • The Structural Engineer will collaborate with architects, civil engineers, project managers, and construction teams to translate design concepts into practical, buildable, and cost-effective structural solutions.



Roles and Responsibilities

Structural Design and Analysis:




  • Design and analyze structural systems for residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects.

  • Develop detailed structural drawings, calculations, and engineering reports.

  • Select appropriate construction materials and structural systems to optimize performance and cost.

  • Review and validate third-party design submissions and structural documentation.



Construction Supervision:




  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure construction aligns with approved structural drawings and specifications.

  • Review and approve material specifications, reinforcement details, and construction methodologies.

  • Identify and resolve on-site structural challenges, providing timely engineering solutions.

  • Ensure quality control and adherence to design intent during all stages of construction.



Coordination and Compliance:




  • Collaborate closely with architects, mechanical and electrical (M&E) engineers, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of designs.

  • Ensure all designs and construction activities comply with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.

  • Liaise with local authorities and regulatory agencies to secure necessary approvals and certifications.

  • Maintain proper documentation for design changes, approvals, and technical correspondence.



Innovation and Continuous Improvement:




  • Research and implement new structural materials, technologies, and sustainable design practices.

  • Contribute to value engineering efforts to improve structural efficiency without compromising quality or safety.

  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to design and construction teams.



Qualifications and Experience




  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in building design and supervision.

  • COREN registration is an advantage.



Working knowledge, skills and competencies and attributes:




  • Strong understanding of structural design software (STAAD Pro, ETABS, etc.).

  • Knowledge of Nigerian building codes and international standards.

  • Excellent analytical and mathematical abilities.

  • Strong attention to detail and teamwork skills.
