Job Description
We’re looking for a Content Writer who can create clear, engaging, and accessible written content for YourDiasporaHub.
You will play a key role in shaping the platform’s voice and ensuring that all articles, guides, and resources are accurate, easy to understand, and culturally sensitive.
This role is ideal for a passionate communicator who understands how to translate complex topics (legal, employment, housing, etc.) into plain, practical language for diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, write, edit, and proofread content for the website- including articles, guides, FAQs, and community stories.
- Develop structured, easy-to-follow content for sections such as:
Legal & Immigration Guides
Jobs & Skills
Community Resources and Events
- Collaborate with the team and web developer to ensure all content is accurate, well-organized, and SEO-friendly.
- Conduct research on government resources, NGO programs, and community initiatives relevant to immigrants.
- Create inclusive, empathetic content that reflects the experiences of immigrants and refugees.
- Contribute ideas for blog posts, newsletters, and storytelling campaigns.
- Ensure content is optimised for clarity, accessibility, and multilingual adaptation.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential:
- Proven experience in content writing, copywriting, or journalism.
- Excellent research, writing, and editing skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to simplify complex information (legal, policy, or technical topics).
- Understanding of SEO best practices and web content structure.
- Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity to immigrant experiences.
Desirable:
- Experience writing for social impact projects
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365
- Experience with newsletter writing or community storytelling
