Purpose Statement




  • We are seeking a Chef Assistant to support the preparation, cooking, and presentation of wholesome, health-focused meals. This role involves working alongside the Chef and kitchen team to ensure all dishes align with dietary preferences while delivering outstanding flavor and quality.

  • The Chef Assistant will play a key role in maintaining a clean, efficient, and creative kitchen environment, consistently upholding food safety regulations and health-conscious standards.



Main Duties and Functions




  • Food Preparation: Assist with prepping ingredients and components of dishes, ensuring alignment with health-focused and dietary-specific recipes.

  • Cooking & Plating: Support cooking processes that retain nutritional value and help with aesthetically pleasing, portion-controlled plating.

  • Inventory Management: Help manage stock, receive deliveries, and reduce food waste by ensuring proper storage and ingredient use.

  • Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and hygiene by regularly sanitizing work areas, equipment, and tools in line with safety standards.

  • Team Collaboration: Coordinate with the kitchen and customer relation steams to ensure smooth service and accommodate dietary requests.

  • Health Standards Compliance: Follow food safety regulations, prepare allergen-conscious meals, and stay updated on nutrition trends.



Qualifications




  • Higher education diploma or equivalent; culinary school training or certification is a plus.



Essential Skills:




  • Demonstrated experience as a Chef Assistant in a health-conscious or similar culinary setting.

  • Strong understanding of nutritional cooking, dietary restrictions, and ingredient alternatives.

  • Basic understanding of health-focused cooking methods and dietary requirements.

  • Attention to detail for accurate measurements and visually appealing presentation.

  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced and high-pressure kitchen environment.

  • Strong teamwork,communication abilities and organizational skills.

  • Solid knowledge of kitchen tools, equipment, and professional cooking techniques.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

  • Knowledge of food labeling and calorie counting.
