• Business Insider Africa is looking for a Fintech & Web3 Writer to cover the evolving world of blockchain, cryptocurrency, and digital finance in Africa and beyond. The ideal candidate understands how to translate complex financial and technological topics into clear, engaging stories that inform readers and drive meaningful conversation.

Key Responsibilities

• Write daily stories and explainers focused on cryptocurrency, blockchain, and digital finance.


• Cover serious developments in the sector, including stablecoins, central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), and enterprise adoption of blockchain.


• Report on government policies, regulations, and the role of financial institutions in shaping the future of blockchain technology.


• Avoid speculative or sensational content such as meme coins, get-rich schemes, or casino-style crypto projects.


• Develop credible sources across the fintech and blockchain ecosystem.


• Collaborate with editors to identify trends and produce impactful journalism.


• Ensure all stories meet Business Insider Africa’s standards for accuracy, tone, and clarity.

Requirements

• Proven experience in journalism, fintech writing, or technology reporting.


• Strong understanding of cryptocurrency, stablecoins, blockchain, and financial innovation.
