Job Description
Job Purpose
- The Direct Sales Agent is responsible for acquiring new customers, mobilizing deposits, promoting the bank’s savings, loan, and digital banking products within assigned markets. The role is fully field-based and aims to grow the bank’s customer base, deposits, loans, and digital adoption through direct marketing, relationship management, and community engagement.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
Customer Acquisition & Relationship Management
- Actively source and acquire new customers for savings, current, fixed deposit, and loan products through field marketing, referrals, and activations.
- Build strong relationships with customers to encourage regular transactions, loan repayments, and account activity.
- Educate customers on the bank’s product suite—savings, loans, and digital services—ensuring they understand benefits and repayment responsibilities.
- Provide excellent after-sales support to maintain high customer satisfaction, loan repayment discipline, and retention.
Deposit Mobilization
- Mobilize deposits through savings, current, and fixed deposits to meet set daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
- Actively promote and cross-sell high-value deposit products (e.g., fixed deposits, special savings plans).
- Monitor and manage the cost of funds to ensure deposits are mobilized at competitive and acceptable interest rates.
- Organize market activations, community drives, and door-to-door campaigns to generate new deposits.
Loan Sales & Recovery
- Prospect, sell, and book loan products (e.g., personal loans, SME loans, salary advances) in line with set targets.
- Conduct basic credit profiling and preliminary assessment before submitting applications.
- Educate customers on loan terms, repayment plans, and responsible borrowing.
- Follow up to ensure prompt loan repayments and minimize default rates.
- Maintain loan portfolio quality by keeping PAR (Portfolio at Risk) within acceptable limits.
Digital Channel Adoption
- Ensure every account opened is activated on at least three e-channels (Kolomoni App, USSD, Internet Banking, Chat box).
- Demonstrate the use of digital channels to customers to drive cashless transactions and self-service banking.
- Track digital adoption rates and provide feedback to improve channel usage.
Field Sales Execution
- Plan and execute daily field visits to markets, trade centers, schools, churches, and communities for customer acquisition.
- Distribute flyers, conduct presentations, and host group sessions to promote both savings culture and access to credit.
- Convert prospects into active depositors, borrowers, and digital banking users within agreed timelines.
Reporting & Compliance
- Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on new accounts, deposits, loans booked, repayments collected, and channel activations.
- Ensure strict adherence to KYC requirements, AML regulations, and internal compliance policies.
- Maintain accurate records of all customer engagements, loans, and transactions.
Requirements
- Previous experience in sales, microfinance, fintech, or FMCG field marketing.
- Basic financial literacy.
- Minimum OND / NCE / HND / B.Sc banking and finance, business administration, or related field.
