Role Description
- The Credit Control Officer is responsible for managing the hospital’s credit policies and receivables, ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances from patients, HMOs, corporate clients, and other third-party payers. The role ensures financial compliance, proper documentation, accurate reconciliation of patient accounts, and effective communication with internal stakeholders and external partners to reduce bad debt exposure and enhance cash flow and financial performance.
Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- Professional certification or part-qualification in ICAN, ACCA, or CITN is an added advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2–5 years’ experience in credit control, accounts receivables, or financial operations within a hospital or service-based environment (healthcare experience strongly preferred).
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of billing systems, insurance claims, and healthcare credit cycle management.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting/ERP software.
