Summary




  • We are seeking a highly experienced, passionate and responsible Chief Investment Officer to lead investment strategy, drive portfolio growth and elevate the firm’s global footprint.



Key Responsibilities




  • Provide strategic leadership for the company’s investment strategy and portfolio construction.

  • Oversee asset allocation, risk management and performance optimisation across asset classes.

  • Lead investment research, market analysis and rigorous due diligence across local and international markets.

  • Source, evaluate and execute high-impact investment opportunities.

  • Build and sustain relationships with global institutional investors, partners and custodians.

  • Mentor and develop a high-performing investment team, embedding strong governance and compliance.

  • Report to the Board with clear, data-driven performance insights and strategic recommendations.



Requirements




  • Minimum of 15 years’ proven experience in investment management, private equity, asset management, corporate treasury or related roles.

  • International travel exposure outside Africa and demonstrable understanding of global capital markets.

  • Strong leadership track record managing multi-disciplinary teams and driving performance.

  • Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

  • Passionate, responsible, ethically grounded, and committed to long-term value creation.



Educational Qualifications (added)




  • Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline from a recognised institution.

  • Preferred: Master’s degree (MBA, MSc Finance, or equivalent) from a top-tier institution.

  • Professional certifications (highly desirable): CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), CAIA, FRM, ACCA or equivalent.

  • Ongoing professional development and demonstrable commitment to continued learning.
