Job Summary




  • We seek a Senior Geo-Database & GIS Geologist to lead the design, implementation and upkeep of our exploration and mineral resource data systems.

  • The role oversees all geo-data generated or acquired across exploration programmes. Data must be validated, accurate and available to end users at all times.



Key Responsibilities




  • Ensure safety practices across all exploration data activities.

  • Establish a central data management system for GIS, borehole and geochemical datasets using acQuire or similar platforms.

  • Develop and enforce data management protocols across all exploration projects.

  • Train users on standards and procedures, then monitor compliance.

  • Maintain and continuously improve all technical data management systems.

  • Manage and track technical software licenses.

  • Support mineral resource estimation and related modelling work.

  • Promote operational excellence through continuous improvement in mineral resource management.



Experience and Qualifications




  • Hold a Professional Geologist designation.

  • Possess a BSc (Hons) in Geology. An MSc, MEng or equivalent is preferred.

  • Bring at least 10 years of geology or mining experience, including 5 years in geo-database design, implementation and mineral resource estimation for commodities such as copper, base metals, gold, silver, platinum, rare earth elements and bulk minerals.

  • Show strong capability in geology and orebody modelling.

  • Demonstrate high proficiency in geo-data management tools such as DAP, Datashed and acQuire, and GIS platforms such as ArcGIS.

  • Understand ore-forming systems, exploration models, and mineral resource modelling software, such as Datamine Studio RM and Leapfrog.

  • Have international or Africa-based experience across diverse geological environments.

  • Communicate clearly in technical reporting, presentation and documentation.
