Job Summary




  • The Head of Marketing manages the marketing unit, develops, and ensures the effective implementation of Capital Market firm marketing strategy. The role is individually accountable for achieving results through the efforts of other managers and team members over a 1–2 year horizon. As a senior leader, the Head of Marketing provides strategic direction, aligns marketing initiatives with business unit (BU) strategies, oversees communication and brand integrity, and manages key stakeholder relationships. The role also ensures operational excellence, measurable business outcomes, and the sustained positioning of Marathon Capital Markets Ltd as a leader in the financial services industry.



Key Responsibilities



Strategy & Marketing Service Management




  • Provide detailed input and assist in the compilation of company and BU strategies.

  • Take accountability for marketing strategy delivery over a 1–2 year horizon.

  • Develop and communicate clear, executable marketing business plans that reflect BU priorities.

  • Devise marketing strategic plans and ensure their effective implementation.

  • Design and implement marketing plans for specific customer segments.

  • Define performance parameters (including balanced scorecard) and metrics for the marketing function.

  • Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement across marketing activities.



Communication & Brand Management




  • Oversee implementation of all internal and external communication plans in consultation with BUs.

  • Develop brand strategies to position MCML as a leader in the financial services industry.

  • Ensure brand integrity and governance throughout the organization.

  • Lead corporate communications, media relations, and public engagement efforts.



Stakeholder Management




  • Engage with BUs to identify and leverage opportunities for marketing synergies.

  • Manage key external relationships including regulators, government, media, and industry stakeholders.

  • Represent MCML at key industry events, conferences, and forums.



Team Effectiveness & Leadership




  • Lead, manage, and mentor the marketing team to achieve operational excellence.

  • Align staff performance contracts with business and marketing plans.

  • Plan and assign work across quarterly and annual cycles.

  • Motivate and guide staff to achieve optimal performance standards.

  • Manage recruitment, performance, and development of marketing staff to sustain long-term delivery.



Qualifications & Experience




  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or related field .

  • 7+ years of progressive marketing experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

  • Proven experience in developing and executing integrated marketing strategies.

  • Strong expertise in brand management, communications, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Excellent leadership, people management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Analytical thinker with the ability to measure performance and drive data-informed decisions.

  • Prior experience in the financial services industry is a strong advantage.
