Industry: Telecommunications / Internet Service Provider (ISP)

Reports To: Network Operations Manager



Role Overview



The NOC Engineer will ensure the performance, stability, and availability of network systems through continuous monitoring, troubleshooting, and timely escalation. The role requires strong technical expertise in telecommunications, wireless technologies, and Cisco network infrastructure. The ideal candidate must be capable of making sound decisions under pressure and working efficiently within a fast-paced, multicultural technical environment.



Key Responsibilities




  • Perform system administration duties across all network elements.

  • Conduct continuous (24/7) network surveillance to promptly detect system or service issues.

  • Respond to network-reported and customer-reported incidents, ensuring timely and effective resolution.

    Proactively monitor network and system performance to identify potential faults.



     

  • Analyze traffic patterns and trends; escalate complex issues to the Network Design Authority.

  • Escalate unresolved incidents to the Problem Management (Level 3 Support) team.

  • Manage and resolve network issues using advanced monitoring and management tools.

  • Ensure customer satisfaction by taking full ownership of incidents until resolution.

  • Monitor suppliers’ service performance and highlight lapses in Service Level Agreements (SLAs).



Requirements & Qualifications




  • BSc/HND in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.

  • 3–5 years’ experience in a telecommunications or ISP network operations environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to make fact-based decisions under pressure.

  • Solid understanding of wireless communication technologies.

  • Cisco CCNA/CCNP certification (mandatory).

  • Hands-on experience in managing Cisco switches and network equipment.

  • Ability to work effectively in an international, high-pressure technical environment.

  • Must be willing and able to work on a 24/7 shift rotation.
