Role Summary
- The Pathology Technician (Oncology Focus) provides essential technical support in the processing, preparation, and analysis of biological specimens, with a specialized emphasis on oncology-related samples.
- The role supports cancer diagnosis, staging, and ongoing patient management while maintaining proficiency in general pathology procedures.
- The technician ensures accurate, timely, and high-quality laboratory results in line with clinical, safety, and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma or Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related discipline.
- Valid practicing license/certification as applicable (e.g., MLSCN for Nigeria or equivalent regulatory body).
- 3 years’ experience as a Pathology Technician, with at least some exposure to oncology or histopathology preferred.
- Proficiency in histology and cytology workflows; experience with oncology markers/IHC is an added advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and ability to follow complex protocols.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, especially in a multidisciplinary oncology environment.
- Ability to work efficiently under time-sensitive clinical schedules.
