About the Role




  • Our client seeks an experienced and strategic Regional Sales Manager to lead and accelerate the sales of general insurance products across the South-South region.

  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving regional growth, strengthening broker and corporate relationships, expanding market penetration, and managing high-performing sales teams across the region.

  • This role requires a seasoned insurance professional with deep industry networks and a strong track record in achieving revenue targets and leading multi-location sales operations.



Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Strategic Sales Leadership:




  • Drive and oversee regional sales operations in alignment with corporate targets and objectives.

  • Develop and execute robust regional sales strategies to increase revenue, market share, and client retention.

  • Monitor and evaluate performance of branch sales teams; provide mentorship and corrective guidance to improve results.



Business Development & Market Expansion:




  • Identify and close new business opportunities through brokers, corporate channels, aggregators, and direct sales.

  • Expand regional footprint by coordinating and supporting branch sales activities across Port Harcourt, Benin, Onitsha, and surrounding markets.

  • Prospect for new business across corporate, retail, and broker-led channels.



Client Relationship Management:




  • Manage and deepen relationships with brokers, corporate clients, and key industry stakeholders.

  • Ensure exceptional client satisfaction through collaboration with underwriting and technical teams.

  • Maintain strong retention levels on existing accounts while activating new revenue pipelines.



Operational & Performance Management:




  • Track and drive profitable income generation within the region.

  • Ensure timely submission of reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates.

  • Oversee branch operations to maintain compliance, brand standards, and operational efficiency.

Job Requirements




  • Minimum 12 years post-NYSC experience in sales leadership within the insurance industry.

  • At least 5 years post-qualification experience (ACIIN/ACII) in senior management is compulsory.

  • BSc/HND in Business, Insurance, Marketing, or related fields.

  • Strong network within the general insurance ecosystem — brokers, corporates, institutions, and strategic partners.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage regional sales teams.

  • Strong understanding of general insurance products and distribution strategies.
