Job Summary
- The Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing medications accurately, counseling patients, managing pharmaceutical inventory, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting safe, effective use of drugs.
- The role requires strong clinical knowledge, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Dispensing & Patient Counseling:
- Fill and dispense prescriptions accurately according to physician orders.
- Check for drug interactions, allergies, contraindications, and dosage accuracy.
- Provide clear, professional medication counseling to patients and caregivers.
- Educate patients on drug usage, side effects, storage, and adherence.
Clinical & Professional Duties:
- Maintain accurate patient medication profiles.
- Collaborate with physicians and nurses on medication therapy management.
- Monitor and report adverse drug reactions (ADR) and other medication issues.
- Prepare extemporaneous compounds when necessary.
Inventory & Supply Management:
- Manage stock levels to ensure the availability of essential drugs.
- Conduct stock checks, expiry monitoring, and ensure proper drug storage conditions.
- Maintain records for controlled substances in line with regulations.
- Submit timely requisitions for medication replenishment.
Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance:
- Ensure full compliance with pharmacy laws, drug control regulations, and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation for audits and inspections.
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and good pharmacy practice (GPP).
- Ensure proper disposal of expired or damaged medications.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate billing, sales records, and prescription logs.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development activities.
- Provide support in policy development and operational improvements.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm or PharmD).
- Valid license from the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) or relevant body.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in a clinical or retail pharmacy (or specify).
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug therapy, and pharmaceutical regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems (if applicable).

Salary
N190,000 - N210,000 Monthly.
