Job Overview
- The Service Engineer provides technical leadership in the maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of material handling equipment—including forklifts, warehouse systems, and industrial machinery.
- The role combines hands-on technical expertise with a strong customer and business focus, supporting after-sales performance, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Duties & Responsibilities
Technical Operations:
- Commission, diagnose, maintain, and repair forklifts, warehouse equipment, construction machines, and industrial solutions.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, inspections, and health checks to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to Service Technicians to strengthen service delivery capability.
- Implement service standards and best practices aligned with OEM and industry requirements.
- Enhance workshop efficiency through effective resource planning, workflow management, and personnel coordination.
- Use modern diagnostic tools to identify complex faults and recommend cost-effective resolutions.
- Manage and forecast spare parts inventory to ensure availability of fast-moving and essential consumables.
- Prepare accurate service reports, WIP updates, and maintain comprehensive equipment service history records.
Sales & Customer Engagement:
- Support after-sales revenue growth through quality service delivery and value-added recommendations.
- Strengthen customer relationships and contribute to business expansion by identifying new service opportunities.
- Provide expert consultation on equipment operation, maintenance practices, and lifecycle optimisation.
- Work with the sales team to identify upselling opportunities and promote service solutions.
- Analyse customer feedback and service performance indicators to drive continuous improvement.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Achievement of agreed service revenue and turnover targets.
- Improved Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) and reduction in repeat repairs.
- Accurate spare parts forecasting and efficient inventory management.
- Timely job completion with minimal equipment downtime.

Technical & Personal Skills:
- Strong expertise in troubleshooting and servicing industrial equipment and warehouse solutions.
- Knowledge of equipment selection, installation, commissioning, and lifecycle maintenance.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools, service software, and modern maintenance technologies.
- Good command of Microsoft Office for reports, documentation, and presentations.
- Excellent communication skills for customer interaction and internal collaboration.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and customer service orientation with sound business acumen.
