Job Description




  • The finance analyst will play a key role in supporting the finance department by ensuring accurate record-keeping, timely financial reporting, and compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

  • The role provides an excellent opportunity for learning and growth in accounting practices and financial management.

  • In this role, you will liaise with cross-functional internal teams to improve the company’s activities and report directly to the Head of Department.



Responsibilities

Financial Record-Keeping:




  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accounting software.

  • Post journal entries and assist in the preparation of trial balances.

  • Manage and reconcile bank statements and companies’ accounts.

  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure account requirements and expectations are met.

  • Review and approve account-related documentation and transactions.

  • Maintain up-to-date records of all account activities and communications.



Financial Reporting:




  • Prepare periodic financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.

  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.

  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial data to management.



Compliance and Audit Support:




  • Ensure adherence to company financial policies and procedures.

  • Assist with external and internal audit preparation.

  • Stay updated on industry best practices and incorporate them into the company’s processes.

  • Ensure compliance with all Nigerian financial regulations, as well as standards set by bodies such as the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRCN) and Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

  • Guarantee that financial statements meet both local and international standards.



Other Duties:




  • Maintain and organize financial documentation.

  • Collaborate with other departments for financial data.

  • Provide support for special projects as required



Requirements




  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

  • Professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) in progress is an advantage.

  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.

  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.

  • Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work in a team and manage multiple priorities.
