- The Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth for the hotel by identifying new business opportunities, managing key accounts, and developing strategic sales plans.
- This role requires a proactive, results-driven professional who can build strong relationships, close deals, and maximise revenue across room sales, events, corporate bookings, and group business.
Responsibilities
Business Development & Revenue Generation:
- Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities in corporate, government, leisure, and group segments.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve monthly and annual revenue targets.
- Conduct regular market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and new sales opportunities.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, travel agents, event planners, and other key stakeholders.
- Conduct client meetings, presentations, site visits, and hotel tours.
- Manage key accounts to ensure client retention, repeat business, and long-term partnerships.
Sales Activities & Negotiation:
Prepare and negotiate contracts, proposals, and pricing for room rates, events, and packages.
Convert leads into confirmed sales while ensuring profitability and guest satisfaction.
Attend industry events, exhibitions, and networking meetings to market the hotel’s services.
Coordination & Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Front Office, Banquets, F&B, Reservations, and Operations teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team on promotions, campaigns, and brand visibility.
- Communicate client requirements clearly to internal teams.
Reporting & Performance Tracking:
- Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports, forecasting, and performance analysis.
- Track sales targets, conversion rates, and account performance.
- Maintain an updated database of clients and sales activities using CRM tools.
Contracting & Rate Management:
- Negotiate corporate rates, group rates, and long-stay packages.
- Ensure all contracts are up-to-date and compliant with hotel pricing policies.
- Monitor market rates to maintain competitiveness.
Guest Satisfaction & Service Quality:
- Follow up with clients post-event or stay to gather feedback and ensure satisfaction.
- Resolve client complaints or issues promptly and professionally.
- Ensure a high-quality experience for all booked clients.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in hotel sales or hospitality business development.
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding revenue targets.
- Strong network within corporate and government sectors (added advantage).
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Experience with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of hotel operations and market dynamics.
