Job Summary




  • The Kitchen Assistant supports daily kitchen operations by assisting with food preparation, maintaining hygiene standards, handling basic tasks, and ensuring overall kitchen efficiency.

  • The role requires a high level of teamwork, attention to detail, and compliance with health and safety procedures.

  • The Kitchen Assistant plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining a smooth kitchen workflow.



Key Responsibilities




  • Assist in washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning ingredients.

  • Support chefs in preparing meal components as directed.

  • Help with plating and packaging meals for dine-in, takeout, or delivery.

  • Set up and clean preparation areas before and after shifts.

  • Set up workstations with required ingredients and equipment.

  • Report low stock, expired products, or damaged equipment to the supervisor.

  • Ensure all kitchen tools and surfaces are properly sanitized.

  • Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and cooking equipment.

  • Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen, sinks, preparation surfaces, and storage areas.

  • Dispose of waste properly and follow recycling procedures where applicable.

  • Comply with all food safety and hygiene regulations

  • Follow established safety procedures at all times.

  • Wear appropriate protective clothing and kitchen attire.



Qualifications & Requirements




  • SSCE or OND qualification preferred.

  • Experience as a Kitchen Assistant or in a food service environment is an added advantage.

  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and follow instructions.

  • Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety practices.

  • Strong teamwork, communication skills, and physical stamina to stand for long hours.



Working Hours:




  • Shift-based schedule depending on restaurant operations. Weekend, evening, and holiday availability may be required.



Salary & Benefits




  • Salary: N60,000 per month.

  • Additional benefits may include staff meals and overtime.
