The incumbent will oversee daily production operations, coordinate staff activities, ensure product quality, conduct inspections, and maintain high technical standards across the production process
Supervise, coordinate, and schedule production staff involved in furniture assembly, finishing, and machine operations.
Develop work methods and align production schedules with other departments.
Identify and solve work-related issues while recommending improvements for productivity and quality.
Prepare cut lists and utilize industry software such as Masscut and SketchUp.
Train employees on job duties, safety procedures, and company policies.
Recommend staffing actions including hiring and promotions.
Prepare daily/weekly production and activity reports.
Visit job sites and take accurate measurements.
Inspect assembled furniture to ensure compliance with specifications and guide staff on correction methods.
Carry out visual inspections of materials and finished goods to ensure proper finishing and tagging.
Identify defects, imperfections, and non-conformities (structural, cosmetic, or functional).
Document inspection findings, imperfections, and maintain up-to-date quality records.
Verify corrective actions and ensure prompt resolution of identified defects.
Communicate all production activities and issues to management.
Collaborate effectively with the production team and other departments.
Maintain a high level of technical expertise across all areas of production.
Requirements
B.Sc / HND in Manufacturing Engineering, Architecture, Woodwork, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years experience in a furniture manufacturing company.
Strong technical ability (MANDATORY).
Ability to stand and supervise for long hours.
High attention to detail and ability to identify defects and non-conformities.
Smart, energetic, and capable of leading a team.
Knowledge of quality control principles and standards within the furniture industry.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
