Job Summary
- The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for overseeing and driving sales performance for milk and dairy product lines within the assigned territory.
- The role involves managing sales teams, developing strong distributor and retail networks, implementing sales strategies, and ensuring consistent growth in market share.
- Candidates must have solid experience in milk sales and a deep understanding of the FMCG/dairy sector.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Revenue Growth:
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for milk and dairy product categories.
- Develop and execute effective sales plans and route-to-market strategies.
- Monitor sales performance and drive initiatives to increase volume, visibility, and penetration.
Territory & Market Management:
- Expand distribution channels and ensure product availability across all retail outlets.
- Conduct regular market visits to identify opportunities, competition activities, and market trends.
- Strengthen relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and key retailers.
Team Leadership & Training:
- Manage, mentor, and motivate a team of Sales Representatives, Van Sales Executives, and Merchandisers.
- Set performance targets and conduct regular coaching to ensure optimal execution.
- Facilitate product knowledge and sales training for team members.
Key Account Management:
- Build strong relationships with modern trade outlets, supermarkets, and key distributors.
- Negotiate pricing, visibility, and promotional agreements to maximize sales.
Reporting & Compliance:
- Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports, competitor analysis, and market intelligence updates.
- Ensure adherence to company sales policies, credit control, and operational standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in FMCG sales, with at least 3 years focused on milk or dairy products.
- Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing territory performance.
- Understanding of distribution management, trade marketing, and route-to-market execution.
- Ability to travel extensively within assigned territory.

- Experience working with cold-chain products.
- Strong analytical and reporting abilities.
- Excellent relationship management and problem-solving skills.
Salary
N250,000 - N400,000 per month.
