Role Summary
- The Executive Director will serve as the Chief Executive Officer of the Ijesa Development Fund (IDF) and will be responsible for leading the IDF's strategic, administrative, financial, and developmental operations.
- The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, broad development expertise, and a passion for community transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for all organizational programs, projects, and operations.
- Develop and implement strategic plans, annual work plans, policies, and frameworks aligned with the mission of IDF.
- Lead resource mobilization efforts, fundraising initiatives, and donor engagement for organizational sustainability.
- Oversee financial management, budgeting, internal controls, and transparent reporting in compliance with NGO standards.
- Coordinate and supervise staff, volunteers, and project teams working across Ijesaland communities.
- Foster strategic partnerships with government agencies, development partners, community institutions, and private-sector stakeholders.
- Conduct needs assessment and ensure development programs address critical community challenges.
- Prepare and present periodic reports to the Board of Trustees.
- Ensure organizational compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements governing NGOs in Nigeria
Qualifications & Requirements
- Master's degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Project Management, Public Administration, Management, or related field
- Minimum of 10 years cognate experience in NGO leadership, development work, project/program management, or related fields.
- Strong background in resource mobilization, grant writing, and donor relations.
- Demonstrated experience in financial management, governance systems, and organizational development.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Proven track record of leading teams, coordinating multi-sectoral projects, and achieving measurable results.
- High integrity, accountability, emotional intelligence, and commitment to community development.
- Good understanding of the socio-cultural and developmental landscape of Ijesaland is a strong advantage.
