The Accountant is responsible for managing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all accounting processes.
This role involves preparing financial records, analyzing financial data, maintaining accounts, and supporting management with timely financial reporting and insights.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, examine, and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
Maintain general ledger accounts, reconcile bank statements, and ensure proper documentation of financial transactions.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in preparing tax returns and statutory filings.
Monitor financial transactions to ensure that expenditures are within budget guidelines.
Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and explanations.
Implement and maintain effective accounting systems, procedures, and internal controls.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial guidance and support decision-making.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional certification (e.g., ACA, ICAN, CPA) is an added advantage.
Proven experience in accounting or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Tally, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
