Key Responsibilities
Mineral Title Oversight:
- Manage all mineral titles (e.g., QLs) ensuring full compliance with MSMD, MCO, and other regulatory bodies
- Develop strategic plans for timely sign-offs of certifications/agreements such as EIA, CDA, EPRP
Quarry Tenement Management:
- Administer quarry tenements across private and public sectors
- Estimate, calculate, and update mineable reserves
- Collaborate with exploration and mining teams to manage both legacy and new tenements
Regulatory Compliance:
- Maintain strong knowledge of Nigerian mining legislation and local laws
- Ensure company’s mineral holdings remain in good standing
- Prepare and submit reports including Tenement Management Plans (TMP), ATPs, renewal tracking, royalty returns, and mine closure plans
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Liaise with government agencies, local communities, and indigenous groups
- Foster positive relationships to support sustainable resource development
- Demonstrate cost-consciousness and resource optimization in tenement operations
Data Management & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate tenement data records
- Prepare weekly/monthly schedules and reports for submission to the Director – Mines
- Use Excel and ERP systems to generate templates and reports for MSMD/MCO
Educational Qualifications
- Preferred: B.Eng / B.Tech / B.Sc in Mining Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Science
- Professional certifications and membership in relevant bodies are an added advantage
- Proficiency in GIS/CAD systems and legal documentation is desirable
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent command of Excel and ERP platforms
- Strong understanding of mining legislation and tenement lifecycle
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strategic planning and compliance tracking
