Job Description




  • The Inventory Officer is responsible for managing, monitoring, and maintaining accurate records of all inventory items within the organization.

  • The role ensures timely availability of stock, minimizes losses, and maintains proper documentation for operational efficiency.

  • The Inventory Officer coordinates with other departments to support smooth business operations.



Key Responsibilities




  • Receive, inspect, and record goods delivered to the store.

  • Issue items to departments or personnel based on approved requisitions.

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and update databases regularly.

  • Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.

  • Ensure proper storage, labeling, and security of inventory items.

  • Monitor stock levels and notify management of shortages or surpluses.

  • Prepare and submit inventory reports to management (daily, weekly, monthly).

  • Enforce compliance with company policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Coordinate with procurement, operations, and other departments regarding stock needs.

  • Track and maintain company assets, ensuring proper usage and timely replacement.



Education & Qualifications




  • Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.

  • Professional certification in inventory management is an added advantage.



Experience:




  • At least 2-3 years of relevant experience in inventory, warehouse, or stock management.

  • Experience with computerized inventory systems is preferred.



Skills & Competencies:




  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.

  • Basic knowledge of inventory management systems/software.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

  • Problem-solving skills to handle discrepancies or stock issues.

  • Time management and multitasking abilities.



Other Requirements:




  • High level of integrity and honesty due to handling of company assets.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

  • Physically able to inspect and manage inventory items when required.

  • Flexible to work during inventory audits or emergency stock counts.



Remuneration




  • Salary range: N80,000 - N100,000 / month.

  • Benefits: Health insurance, leave entitlement, staff welfare, and other company benefits as applicable.
