Role Overview
The Head of Lending Operations will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end lending operations of the organization, ensuring efficient loan processing, strong risk controls, regulatory compliance, and excellent customer experience. This role requires a results-driven leader with deep knowledge of lending processes, credit operations, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the entire lending operations lifecycle, including loan origination, credit assessment, disbursement, monitoring, and recovery support.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve lending operational policies, procedures, and workflows.
- Ensure strict compliance with regulatory requirements, internal controls, and risk management frameworks.
- Collaborate with Credit Risk, Sales, Finance, Legal, and Technology teams to optimize loan turnaround time and portfolio quality.
- Monitor loan performance, portfolio health, delinquency trends, and operational KPIs, and provide strategic insights to management.
- Oversee operational teams, set performance targets, and drive productivity, accountability, and service excellence.
- Identify operational risks and inefficiencies and implement corrective and preventive controls.
- Lead process automation and digital transformation initiatives to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Ensure high standards of customer experience throughout the lending journey.
- Prepare and present regular operational and performance reports to senior management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CFA, MBA) is an advantage.
- Minimum of 3–10 years experience in lending, credit operations, or financial services, with at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Strong understanding of lending operations, credit risk management, loan documentation, and recovery processes.
- Proven experience managing large operational teams and driving performance.
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and decision-making skills.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements within the financial services industry.
