Position Description
- Support the Marine Superintendent.
Roles and Responsibilities
Daily Planning and Resource:
- Receiving daily activities reports from vessels and analyzing the reports for correctness
- Monitoring daily fuel consumption using FUELTRAX software/Fuel management plan benchmark and report non-conformities.
- Monitoring daily action requests from clients via emails and escalating to the Port Captain.
- Monitoring daily requests from vessels through phones calls, emails & ERP
- Interface with support department for the closure of vessels action items raised by client/internal audits/external audits
Vessel’s Requisitions and Port Call Management:
- Scrutinize all material and service requests for correctness and escalate to Port Captain for approval.
- Follow through with Supply Chain management for timely procurement and delivery of requested items to the vessels.
- Monthly Visit to each Vessel for Inspection and dissemination of Instructions from management.
- Liaise with Port Engineer to populate vessel’s pre port call maintenance activities and share with the client.
- Follow through with the vessel and other responsible parties for timely closure on planned port call maintenance items to ensure seamless port call turnaround
Crew Planning and Resource:
- Monitor minimum rest hours for all crew members onboard and make sure it is in compliance with MLC 2010 manilla amendments.
- Monitor that all crew onboard are periodically conducting their CBT training to keep them abreast with current and international best practices.
Safety Planning and Resource:
- Monitor safety observations onboard and enforce compliance onboard for one UC/UA to be reported daily per vessel.
- Technical support for incident investigation onboard.
- Assist Port Captain to raise MOC for vessels that requires changes in personnel, equipment, operations or location.
- Monitor the conduct of drills and safety meetings onboard.
- Periodic (Monthly) review of CCTV footage onboard for unsafe acts and conditions during operations offshore and recommending control measures to eliminate risks of incidents in the future.
Internal Audits Management:
- Assist in conducting pre-Ovid Inspections
- Assist in conducting vessel port call inspections.
- Assist in conducting client specific Pre-hire inspections onboard.
External Audits Management:
- Assist in closing OVID inspection action items for all vessels in his designation timely and appropriately.
- Assist in closing all VPM and Walkthrough action items.
- Assist in closing client specific port call inspections action items.
SOP:
- Ensure an up-to-date availability of all needed navigational information and equipment (Notices to mariners, other relevant IMO/Flag state publication guidelines, clients MEMO, special information) are sent to the vessels and acknowledged by the vessels.
Compliance Management:
- Ensure monthly vessel reports are sent timely to respective departments.
- Ensure that weekly JV trackers are sent timely and appropriately to the client
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, or Logistics.
- 5 - 10 years offshore / marine operations experience.
- Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
