Role Summary
- The Business Development Manager will drive revenue growth and brand expansion by identifying new business opportunities, managing strategic partnerships, expanding outlets/channels, and increasing market penetration across Lagos and key Nigerian cities.
Key Responsibilities
Business Growth & Expansion:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities (new outlets, kiosks, franchises, distributors).
- Drive market entry strategies for new locations within Lagos and other target markets.
- Lead franchise development and manage franchisee relationships (if applicable).
Sales & Revenue Development:
- Grow B2B sales (corporate orders, bulk confectionery supply, events, schools, supermarkets).
- Develop partnerships with aggregators (Bolt Food, Glovo, Chowdeck, Jumia Food).
- Negotiate and close commercial deals with distributors, malls, and retail chains.
Market & Competitive Analysis:
- Monitor consumer trends, competitor activities, and pricing strategies.
- Recommend new product ideas, promotions, and market positioning strategies.
- Analyze sales performance and prepare growth forecasts.
Brand & Partnership Management:
- Build strategic partnerships with event planners, corporates, cinemas, and lifestyle brands.
- Collaborate with marketing teams on promotions, activations, and brand visibility.
- Represent the brand at trade fairs, exhibitions, and industry events.
Operational Collaboration:
- Work closely with operations, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure smooth execution.
- Support outlet launch planning and performance optimization.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and food industry regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or related field.
- 5–8 years experience in business development, sales, or growth roles.
- Proven experience in QSR, FMCG, confectionery, food & beverage, or retail.
- Strong knowledge of the Lagos market and consumer behavior.
