The Peri-Operative Nurse will support surgical procedures by providing high-quality nursing care before, during, and after operations.
The role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary surgical team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare operating rooms and ensure the availability of required instruments and equipment
Assist surgeons and anaesthetists during procedures while maintaining a sterile environment
Monitor patients’ vital signs and overall condition throughout the perioperative phase
Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care, including patient assessment, documentationand recovery support
Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control standards
Maintain accurate surgical records and adhere to safety and quality protocols
Collaborate with the surgical team to improve workflow and patient experience.
Requirements
Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license.
Certification or formal training in perioperative nursing is an added advantage
Minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience
Previous experience in surgical or theatre nursing settings
Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile techniquesand operating room (OR)protocols
Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical-thinking skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
