Position Overview
- Oversee all wheat milling operations, ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality flour production that meets standards. Manage staff, equipment, and processes to achieve operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Milling Operations:
- Drive optimal milling efficiency by improving process reliability and reducing waste.
- Ensure strict adherence to production plans and quality standards.
- Monitor equipment performance and schedule routine maintenance.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives and implement practical solutions.
Safety & Compliance:
- Promote a strong safety culture with zero accidents and full compliance with LOTO and work permits.
- Ensure food safety standards (CCP/OPRP) and zero complaints on flour quality.
Cost & Process Optimization:
- Lead cost-saving projects and participate in capex initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Maintenance, Quality, Evacuation) for effective scheduling and stock control.
- Maintain accurate SAP postings and zero stock variances during month/year closing.
People Leadership:
- Mentor and develop milling team using lean manufacturing practices.
- Foster teamwork, communication, and an empowered culture aligned with business goals.
Operational Excellence:
- Manage daily and long-term production activities for consistent quality and yield.
- Coordinate with other departments to address schedule changes, material issues, and quality concerns.
- Ensure mill availability exceeds 96% through proactive maintenance and productivity management.
Requirements
- B.Sc. in Engineering/Food Science and Diploma in Milling from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 5 years’ hands-on experience in wheat milling operations.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale milling operations and diverse teams.
- Strong leadership, communication, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to drive innovation, continuous improvement, and cost efficiency.
