Job Summary



We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Fabricator at Dangote - Okpella Cement Limited who will be responsible for the fabrication, assembly, installation, and maintenance of mechanical components and structures used in cement manufacturing processes. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of plant operations by producing high-quality fabricated parts and assemblies according to specifications.



Key Duties And Responsibilities




  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine job requirements for fabrication and assembly.

  • Cut, shape, and assemble metal components using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.

  • Fabricate and repair plant equipment such as conveyors, crushers, kilns, hoppers, ducts, and chutes.

  • Perform welding (MIG, TIG, arc, and gas welding) and other joining techniques to assemble and repair components.

  • Install fabricated elements into existing plant systems, ensuring proper alignment and fit.

  • Conduct regular inspections of fabricated structures and equipment, identifying wear, damage, or areas for improvement.

  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to resolve mechanical issues and optimize fabrication processes.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to industry safety standards and company policies.

  • Document fabrication processes, modifications, and repairs for reference and compliance purposes.

  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by Sectional Heads.



Requirements



Education and Work Experience




  • First degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Minimum of five (3) years of progressive experience in fabricating within industrial or cement-related field.



Skills And Competencies




  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems relevant to cement plant operations.

  • Basic understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Awareness of industrial safety standards and procedures.

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
