Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable mechanical Technical Instructor to join our team at the Dangote Cement Plc. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality technical education and vocational training to our students/trainees, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge in mechanical/automotive technology in line with the approved national occupational standard by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). This in-person position requires a hands-on approach to teaching and a commitment to student success.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and delivery of curriculum for mechanical/automotive technology courses, ensuring alignment with approved curriculum/standards
- Provide hands-on instruction in workshops and classrooms, fostering a practical learning environment.
- Provide strong knowledge and skills capabilities in the installation and maintenance of AUTOGAS/CNG/LNG technology, working with provided documents.
- Facilitate students/trainees with skills and knowledge required to operate and maintain HEMMs equipment like Dumpers, Excavators, Pay loaders, Graders, Bull dozers etc.
- Support students understanding of complex automotive principles, troubleshooting techniques, and safety protocols in relationship with use of Autogas or CNG
- Evaluate student progress through assessments and provide constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes
- Collaborate with other faculty members to ensure continuous research work and adopt the use of cohesive educational experience across all training programs
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to program development initiatives
- Management of training tools and workshop equipment and updating of the Dangote Academy workshop inventory list for both tools and consumables.
- Implementation of other related tasks as may be assigned by the Centre manager or other superior persons.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree / HND or it's equivalent in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering from reputable Institution.
- Minimum of Three (3) years of field experience in automotive operation system handling, plus any additional experience in mentoring, teaching or tutoring.
- Strong understanding of HEMMs equipment principles, systems, and safety standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
