  • seeking to hire a qualified professional for the position of Technical Assistant – Policy and Government Relations. This role offers comprehensive technical and advisory support to the Office of the Director of a Development Bank, including policy analysis, institutional engagement, intergovernmental coordination, and strategic communications. The position demands a high level of discretion, analytical skill, and the ability to operate effectively within complex policy environments.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES




  • Conduct high-level reviews of policy developments, regulatory frameworks, and governmental directives related to agriculture, rural finance, and other thematic areas relevant to banks' regional programs.

  • Track and synthesize emerging issues, executive decisions, and legislative movements that may influence operational priorities or strategic direction.

  • Support structured engagement with federal, state, and local government institutions through briefings, consultative sessions, and coordinated outreach.

  • Prepare technically grounded policy notes, analytical summaries, stakeholder communication materials, and documentation for strategic meetings.

  • Represent the Directorate at official functions, policy dialogues, interagency sessions, and stakeholder forums as delegated.

  • Assist in the coordination of strategic partnerships, institutional collaborations, and cross-government initiatives that enhance program alignment and operational synergy.

  • Monitor grants, interventions, development support mechanisms, and evolving regulatory instruments with potential implications for the bank's activities in the region.

  • Contribute to stakeholder mapping processes, advocacy planning, and the development of engagement strategies that support the Directorate’s objectives.

  • Provide cross-cutting technical and administrative support, including handling sensitive assignments and evolving tasks as may be required.



Qualifications & Competencies




  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Agricultural Economics, Development Studies, Law, or a related field.
