Job Description
The Warehouse Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day management of the warehouse where all procured Non-Food Item (NFI) kits are received, safely stored, and released for field distribution upon approval. The role ensures accurate record-keeping, proper stock management, and routine stock-taking to support efficient and accountable humanitarian operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and properly stack all procured NFI kits in the warehouse.
- Ensure safe, clean, and organized storage of items in line with warehouse standards.
- Release NFI kits for field distribution only upon receipt of approved documentation.
- Maintain accurate warehouse records including stock cards, bin cards, waybills, and release notes.
- Conduct regular and periodic stock-taking and reconcile physical stock with records.
- Report stock discrepancies, damages, or losses promptly to the supervisor.
- Support loading and offloading of items during distributions and deliveries.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, donor requirements, and safety procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of SSCE / OND qualification.
- At least 1–2 years’ experience in warehouse, logistics, or storekeeping roles.
- Experience handling NFIs or humanitarian supplies is an advantage.
- Fluency in English and the ability to speak and understand local language(s).
